The theme of the five elements opened an inexhaustible world for them where they were looking for the relations between the micro-macro dimensions of the universe, conscious and subconscious levels of life. During the process the dance as ritual started to interest the choreographer, as a sacral communal event. The dance as ancient spiritual tool gives us an opportunity to connect with each other, with ourselves, with the past, present and the future. A searching person aims to find harmony within him-/herself, to find the cosmos between the chaos of the endless dynamics inside of us and what surrounds us.
András Déri, choreographer graduated at PARTS, with the support of the Zoltán Imre Program of the National Cultural Found of Hungary in 2018, has been continuing his research what he begun in 2015 during his creation of “Elements” with the experimental musician György Szatmáry in the frame of the Movement 100+ residency program of the Orkesztika Foundation. Stepping to a next level he invited Zsolt Varga saxophonist as well which created and even more complex improvisation research, where various forms of mystical trinities could appear. The creation found its form in an interactive performance, where the audience participates on a ritualistic, communal experience with the possibility for bringing them in, initiate them in to the “mystery”. At the same time András Déri attempts to rethink the conventions of the genre-, role categories (musician-dancer, viewer-performer) and of the theatrical space by inviting the audience on stage in his very proximity for a communal time together as a “ceremony master”. The “viewers” after getting under the impact of the trinity created by the improvised dance, sound, rhythm interactions around them, after getting touched inside and outside, finally can give in to the desire to join actively a communal free dance, instead of remaining passive participants, observers of the happenings around them.
